Job Statement:

Experienced Automation Specialist for project/construction install of building automation systems. Minimum 5+ years of experience working with DDC systems.  Must know and understand HVAC, DDC, Bacnet, LON, and have excellent computer skills.  Will lead other team members on various projects.   

Essential/Critical Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Assist development and implementation of preventative maintenance programs
  • Assist development of project plan
  • Attends and follows company safety training and policy
  • Available after hours to aid and assist other technicians to resolve problem
  • Mentors Automation Technicians in training and troubleshooting
  • Develop procedures and training guidelines
  • Identify methods to enhance control system operation, identify costs, and promote directly with customer
  • Required to generate software and GUIs for DDC controls utilizing company standards
  • Provide customer training and support
  • Maintains a professional appearance
  • Maintains an organized and accurate vehicle inventory
  • Works with equipment vendors to solve automation problems and increase own knowledge
  • Attends Project Meetings as requested by Project Management
  • Provides leadership and direction of subcontractors
  • Return, track and document all defective and/or not required project related materials.
  • Understand and execute  the scope of work provided under the contract
  • Respond appropriately to  Project Manager or Service Coordinator work scheduling

Education and Experience:

  • Advanced knowledge of HVAC systems, the theory of component and system operation
  • BS degree or eight years equivalent experience
  • Preferred experience in computer network operation
  • Proficient at using MS software
  • This position requires three (3) completions of SmartEdge certifications
  • Successfully complete the SmartEdge Certified Network 8000 Specialist Certification (BCNWS)
  • Successfully complete the SmartEdge Certified LON Specialist Certification (BCLS)
  • Successfully complete the SmartEdge Certified BACnet Specialist Certification (BCBS)
  • Successfully complete the SmartEdge Certified Niagara Specialist  Certification (BCNS)
  • Successfully completes necessary factory certification courses
  • Applies knowledge gained from completing certification courses
