Job Statement:

Working knowledge of computer software programs, Microsoft Word, Excel, & Outlook. Responsible to follow through on set objectives with little or no supervision based on previous experience or education in similar field.  Attention to detail and accuracy a must. Obvious Accounting background or education with data entry ability, create basic spreadsheets without assistance.  Perform a host of various other departmental duties, and provide routine daily backup answering office phones.  Work efficiently and effectively with all others, and maintain a positive SmartEdge image.  Ability to utilize the internet as it pertains to job requirements.

Essential/Critical Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Scanning and filing of various accounting related documents
  • Ad hoc projects for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Job Cost
    • Open work order project
    • 1099 year-end project
    • Tax-exempt certificates
    • Finish up scanning project
    • Tracking employee training data
  • Basic bookkeeping and data entry tasks

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum 2 year AAS degree or 2 year experience in accounting field
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook) and Internet
  • Discretion and trustworthiness due to frequent contact with confidential material
  • General understanding of accounting practices and principles
  • Experience and comprehension of automated accounting systems and related applications
  • Ability to evaluate, assess, solve routine problem issues
  • Ability to meet established and impromptu deadlines
