Job Statement: Responsibilities include creation of custom software and graphics for SmartEdge HVAC building automation systems. The right candidate can, with minimal supervision, turn out accurate graphic pages and programming code to match given requirements in a timely manner. Must strive to know all generations of DDC controllers supported by SmartEdge and understand the different forms of communications between them. 

Essential/Critical Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Develop the overall strategy plan for each project based on scope, owner demands, schedules, controllers and other required functions. Outline and estimate major tasks, monitor progress, advise of variance, meet and/or exceed commitments.
  • Develop software for all supported controllers.
  • Work with computers, software packages, DDC controllers and other highly technical equipment.
  • Test software design using the test panel and software tools.
  • Document design procedures and tech tips used in developing our company software standards. Information to be organized in the SmartEdge Engineering Best Practices manual
  • Assisting others with SmartEdge Engineering Best Practices.
  • Communicate with other employees, contractors and owner’s is a must.
  • Must train customers and employees on the provided graphics package.
  • Good organizational skills and ability to maintain solid prioritizing methods to handle workloads.

Education and Experience:

  • Preference given to a 4 year degree in Computer Science or equivalent field experience.
  • Must be familiar with or have knowledge in computer networking and computer hardware.
  • Must have an above average to expert knowledge of current Windows operating systems.
  • Must have an interest in computer/machine interface.
