Job Statement:

This is a high level position where the candidate possesses advanced technical skills in HVAC systems, controls install, start-up, analytical troubleshooting and automation networking. Provides World-Class customer support to all SmartEdge clients utilizing our Remote Service Center to provide remote service and support such as; perform system diagnostics and troubleshooting, software modifications, software download, analytics, energy analysis and improvement, trend collection and reporting, and repairs as possible. Performs services for planned and emergency support. Proactively monitors and reviews customer systems for operational performance, monitors local weather information, energy costs, and energy usage to adjust system operations for buildings as needed.

Education and Experience:

  • Remotely connect to client sites for emergency service support as requested.
  • Contact clients to obtain information about service call as needed and properly diagnose the situation
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair issue as best as possible. if on site response is required, notify dispatch/manager for follow up
  • Complete and submit STR report for each service performed
  • Utilizing local weather data, proactively monitor and adjust building systems for best operation (extreme cold / hot temperatures).
  • Proactively monitor, adjust and trend client building systems per preventative maintenance plans, service extras, projects, and warranties as required.
  • Collect trend data reports and review for any issues (analytics). Advise Account Manager, technician, and/or client of items identified and perform resolution if possible.
  • Monitor building energy data and collect data as needed. Identify opportunities for improving building energy performance, execute as required/approved.
  • Implement and utilize analytics software such as Pangaea and Schneider Analytics.
  • Perform measurement & verification for energy related projects as requested.
  • Identify methods to enhance control system operation, identify costs, and promote directly with customer
  • Assist development and implementation of preventative maintenance programs
  • Attends and follows company safety training and policy
  • Available after hours to aid and assist other technicians to resolve problem
  • Mentors Automation Technicians in training and troubleshooting
  • Provide customer training and support
  • Maintains a professional appearance
  • Maintains an organized and accurate vehicle inventory
  • Works with equipment vendors to solve automation problems and increase self-knowledge
  • Attends Project Meetings as requested by Project Management
  • Return, track and document all defective and/or not required project related materials.
  • Understand and execute the scope of work provided under the contract

Additional Job Specifications:

  • Advanced knowledge of HVAC systems, the theory of component and system operation
  • BS degree or eight years equivalent experience
  • Preferred experience in computer network operation
  • Proficient at using MS software
  • This position requires four (4) or more completions of SmartEdge certifications
  • Successfully complete the SmartEdge Certified Network 8000 Specialist Certification (BCNWS)
  • Successfully complete the SmartEdge Certified LON Specialist Certification (BCLS)
  • Successfully complete the SmartEdge Certified BACnet Specialist Certification (BCBS)
  • Successfully complete the SmartEdge Certified Niagara Specialist  Certification (BCNS)
  • Successfully completes necessary factory certification courses
  • Applies knowledge gained from completing certification courses
