Job Statement: 

Responsible to secure profitable energy solutions and building commissioning projects.  Responsible to develop and meet sales plans.  Targeted work will also include projects with excellent long term “service” potential.  Responsible also, to assist other departments on strategic team sales.  Provide leadership on all booked projects by monitoring project profitability, change orders, cash flow and jobsite visits.  Develop industry specific solutions for clients to help them solve their business goals.  Provide consultative sales to our clients and work with our partner’s to maximize services.

Responsibilities:

  • Achieve annual budgeted sales bookings and gross margins on a quarterly basis
  • Independently identify and develop new sales opportunities
  • Develop customer relationships
  • Develop and implement marketing plans
  • Directly interface with appropriate governmental agencies to stay abreast of new programs that can affect the energy services business.
  • Negotiate with building owners at President, CEO and/or CFO levels.  Work with building owners operational staff to gain support of potential projects.
  • Work with customers to develop energy conservation plans that meet their objectives
  • Prepare proposals with technical summaries and financial data
  • Develop new proposal materials in response to customer requirements
  • Prepare presentations as required as part of the sales process
  • Coordinate the in-house technical staff to perform building audits and project cost estimates, and technical documentation in a timely manner.
  • Provide proper turnover to operations at project kick-off meetings
  • Insure prompt follow-up on all current and closed projects for customer satisfaction
  • Stay informed and become proficient on new products, procedures, industry regulations & codes
  • Attend meetings and keep commitments necessary to support  sales functions
  • Provide appropriate and timely direction and feedback to all SmartEdge employees

  • Submit expense information, sales reports, and updated quote logs on a monthly basis
  • Develop innate knowledge of each industry served and their business devices and problems.  Tailor SmartEdge solutions to these problems.
  • Assist with collections when requested
  • Develop sales budget by December for following fiscal year
  • Develop target project sales plan and keep current monthly

Education and Experience:

  • B.S., B.A required, MBA preferred
  • Minimum 4 years strategic sales experience preferably in an energy-related field
  • Previous experience with Energy Savings Projects and Building Commissioning very beneficial
  • Ability to prepare high quality technical proposals and make sales presentation
  • Previous experience with Microsoft programs, (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) required
