Perform Installation and maintenance of security & fire alarm systems. Provide support for subcontractors and miscellaneous other job duties. Prepare and submit Engineering submittals and specifications for client approval and Operation & Maintenance Manuals at completion of jobs. Perform Project management duties to order and track project materials, coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to expedite material and manage pricing policies.

Essential/Critical Functions and Responsibilities
-
Complete Engineering take offs, (Product take offs, Power Distribution layouts and topology layouts) Outline and estimate major tasks, provide variance reports, meet and/or exceed commitments.

Develop applications and drawings for non-standard controllers using current tools.

Coordinate and Perform actual installation of wiring, conduit, and end devices such as cameras, door strikes, magnetic locks, card readers, and fire alarm devices.

Install ethernet network systems and cables.
-
Coordinate technicians and sub-contractors during installation.
-
Perform Fire Alarm inspection and testing per applicable codes.
-
Perform software and graphical development for fire alarm, card access, mass notification, and security based systems.

Advanced troubleshooting skills relative to security & fire alarm systems.
-
Perform service and maintenance of various manufacturer security & fire alarm products.
-
Perform Check/Test/Start of systems.
-
Provide customer training.
-
Assist with material purchase orders.
-
Maintain project documentation from kickoff meeting through close out.
-
Be able to work with computers and learn to use software packages, understand the industry controllers and other highly technical equipment.

Communications with other employees, contractors and owners is a must. Keeping all informed

Use the company adopted Engineering tools- to order materials from submittals.

Must be able to generate reports and forms for internal and external customers using company adopted Engineering tools

Additional Job Specifications (Education, prior experience, other)

Must have a minimum 4 year degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or at least 8 years equivalent experience

Must have an above average - expert knowledge of Windows.

Must have necessary NICET certifications.
-
Obtain Product Specific Certifications as required.

Rotating weekly On-call
